Correos Won't Load on Windows PC: Step-by-Step Fix

📅 13 August 2026 ⏱ 4 min read 🔧 PC Repair

You're Waiting for a Parcel and Your PC Won't Play Ball

You've got a parcel on the way, you click the Correos or Correos Express link — and nothing. A blank page, a security warning, or the site half-loads and then freezes. It's frustrating at the best of times, and in Spain, where so many deliveries hinge on checking your tracking number or collecting a notification from the local post office, it can mean a missed package entirely.

The good news: this is almost always a software or browser issue on your PC, not something broken at Correos's end. Here's how to fix it yourself, step by step.

Why Does This Happen?

Correos (correos.es) and Correos Express use HTTPS encryption — that padlock in your browser bar. Windows and your browser both need to trust the security certificates behind that padlock. If your PC's clock is wrong, your Windows updates are overdue, or your browser is holding onto old cached data, that trust breaks down and the site refuses to load properly.

Common culprits:

Step-by-Step Fix — Work Through These in Order

Step 1: Check Your PC's Date and Time

Right-click the clock in the bottom-right corner of your screen and choose Adjust date/time. Make sure Set time automatically is turned On, and that your time zone is set to (UTC+01:00) Madrid. If you've recently had a power cut or battery issue, the clock can drift. Fix it, restart your browser, and try Correos again.

Step 2: Run Windows Update

Click the Start menu, type Windows Update, and install everything pending. Outdated Windows versions are missing the root certificates that sites like Correos rely on. Once updates finish, restart your PC before testing the site again.

Step 3: Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies

In Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete. Select All time as the time range, tick Cookies and Cached images and files, and click Clear data. Restart the browser and head straight to correos.es or correos-express.es.

Step 4: Try a Different Browser

If you normally use Internet Explorer or an old version of Edge, try Google Chrome or the latest Microsoft Edge (both free downloads). Correos's site relies on modern web standards that old browsers simply don't support.

Step 5: Disable Extensions Temporarily

In Chrome or Edge, go to the three-dot menu → Extensions → disable everything, especially VPNs and ad blockers. Reload correos.es. If it works now, re-enable extensions one at a time to find the culprit.

Step 6: Check Your Antivirus / Firewall

Open your antivirus or security suite and look for a web-filtering or HTTPS-scanning setting. Try temporarily disabling it (just for testing — turn it back on straight after). Common offenders are Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, and Kaspersky when set to maximum protection. If this is the issue, add correos.es and correos-express.es as trusted sites within the antivirus settings rather than leaving protection off.

Step 7: Add Correos as a Trusted Site in Windows

Open the Start menu → search Internet Options → click the Security tab → select Trusted Sites → click Sites. Add https://www.correos.es and https://www.correos-express.es. Click Close, then OK, and restart your browser.

What About Correos Email Notifications Not Arriving?

If the site loads fine but you're not getting email or SMS collection notices, check your spam/junk folder first — Correos notification emails often land there. Add @correos.es to your safe senders list. If you're using a webmail service like Gmail or Outlook, the filter rules may need adjusting.

Still Stuck? It Might Be More Than a Browser Issue

If you've worked through every step above and Correos still won't load, there may be a deeper problem — a corrupted Windows profile, a DNS issue, or a failing network adapter. At that point it's worth bringing the machine in rather than spending more time on it. If your PC is generally starting to misbehave in other ways too, have a read of our post on 5 warning signs your laptop needs a repair — some of those symptoms go hand in hand with the browsing problems described here.

And if your machine is just running sluggishly across the board, our guide on what actually helps when your computer runs slow covers the Windows-relevant steps too.

At Campoverde Repair, based in Pinar de Campoverde, we see this exact issue regularly — especially after Windows updates or power outages on the Costa Blanca. Bring your laptop or desktop in and we'll have it sorted quickly, usually the same day.

FAQ

Why does Correos show a security warning on my Windows PC?

Usually because your PC's date or time is wrong, or Windows is missing security updates. Correos uses HTTPS certificates that Windows checks against its own clock and certificate store. Fix the date/time and run Windows Update first.

Correos Express tracking page just shows a blank screen — what's wrong?

A blank page usually means your browser is blocking scripts or has cached a broken version of the page. Clear your cache and cookies (Ctrl+Shift+Delete), disable browser extensions, and try again in Chrome or the latest Edge.

My Correos collection notification email never arrived — where is it?

Check your spam or junk folder. Correos notification emails frequently get filtered. Add @correos.es to your safe senders list in your email settings to stop it happening again.

Can my antivirus block Correos or Correos Express?

Yes — antivirus programs like Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, and Kaspersky can flag Spanish postal sites when HTTPS scanning is enabled. Add correos.es and correos-express.es as trusted sites in your antivirus settings rather than turning protection off completely.
